Project brief
Eteria were appointed to provide consultancy and design for the provision of electric vehicle chargers to the existing external car park at 234 Bath Road, Slough.
The primary objective of the Project was to install an electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure within the existing car park, while ensuring minimal disturbance to the car park deck in order to mitigate the risk of water ingress into the basement below.
Challenges
Given the existing car park deck could not be disturbed, Eteria’s design had to be carefully coordinated with the existing car park structure to ensure cable routes were viable and associated equipment were accessible.
Eteria undertook a detailed site inspection in order to ensure the design incorporated the requirements of the site whilst offering a fully compliant installation. The design also featured the incorporation of an integrated payment system which needed to be coordinated with the design to ensure essential system features were available to facilitate its operation.
Additionally, PEN fault protection was incorporated into the design in order to comply with regulation requirements.
Results
Eteria successfully delivered a fully coordinated Stage 4 design on time to meet the project tender issue deadline.
The design has provided scope to reduce carbon emissions with transport, enhanced the building’s environmental credentials, and improved the overall building user experience of the site.
We are focused on applying practical, forward-thinking technologies to improve the efficiency and sustainability of assets and their operations. Our goal is to support carbon reduction by using innovation blended with traditional practices to ensure a robust solution.
